HELLO THERE.
Welcome! We’re delighted to have you here with us at the 2023 Flourish Women’s Conference! We’ve planned, prepared and prayed for you, but more than that, we’re just so excited at the thought that God has something unique and incredible that He’s going to do in each of our hearts.
So, take the next 24 hours to relax, have fun and be inspired. Visit our Flourish Market, grab a cappuccino and a friend and enjoy a picnic lunch out in the sunshine… but whatever you do, don’t go home too early!
Meet our Guest Speakers
Yolande Korkie
Born in the USA and raised in South Africa, Yolande holds a master’s degree in psychology with a focus on Pastoral Counselling.
In 1994, she married the love of her life, Pierre, and together they have two children – Pieter and Lize.
From the early days of their marriage, the Korkies were involved in cross-cultural work; and in 2009, as a family, they responded to a calling and moved to Yemen to live out their faith.
Their lives took a drastic turn when, after five years in Yemen, Yolande and her husband were kidnapped by Al Qaeda and held hostage in the Arabian Peninsula. Yolande endured eight months of captivity and was eventually released. She tirelessly fought for Pierre’s release, but tragically, he was killed by his captors the night before his scheduled release. In 2019, Yolande joined INcontext International and founded the NGO, Crisis Response Network, where she serves as the director. Through CRN, Yolande mobilizes networks and grassroots partners to provide support and compassion to those experiencing crises.

Under the leadership of Phil and Lucinda Dooley, Gill and Armando helped to pioneer, plant and lead the Wonderboom Hillsong Church, in Pretoria for 9 years. In 2021 they were commissioned to plant a Hillsong church in Durban and have a deep affection for the people of this city.
Gillian has a gift of beautifully understanding and articulating the word of God in practical ways and pointing people to become authentic followers of Jesus.
She and Armando also own a small coffee shop in Kloof called Velvet Coffee Co. which is quickly becoming a hub for exceptional coffee and a space for creatives in the area to showcase their work, connect and be inspired.
